No...not as a club Damo, but if individuals want to attend then they will need to contact the organisers to see if they can gain entry as an individual.

That is disappointing, as this is one of the highlights of the year.

I'll go along anyway and watch the racing.

Understandable John. They are lookin for mad money again to put a stand in, i know the event needs the support to keep going and its free for the punters which is great. Its expensive for a spot though.

Anyone who is interested outside of the kit car club in attending give me a shout.

Thanks lads

The following is the press release from Motorsport Ireland announcing the cancellation of this year's event.

PHOENIX PARK MOTOR RACES 14/15th. AUGUST 2010

It is with sincere regret that Motorsport Ireland announces that this year’s racing event in the Phoenix Park is cancelled.

The funds required to build the circuit and run the event are a fine balance between Sponsorship and Competitor Entry Fees and, unfortunately, in the current economic environment, both elements have failed to generate sufficient income for the event to be viable.

Motorsport Ireland wishes to thank the Office of Public Works, National Historic Properties and the management of Farmleigh, for all the assistance and support given towards the running of this year’s event.

Sincere thanks also to those sponsors and competitors who were committed, and to all of the volunteers who were ready for this year’s event and without whom it would never run.

Pity...but you could sense it was going to happen. Not enough publicity this year at all for a start. Usually everyone starts talking about the Park in March/April, buts its only in the last week or two that you actually have people questioning it about dates and details etc.

A big push on advertising needs to be made early in the year for this event to take place I think. Although that does require money which they don't have. :(
