Carrickfergus is on 6/8/11 at the usual place. (dont want to step on anyones toes, I was talking to George yesterday) They have found another hotel closer and cheaper for those wanting to stop over but they will need to know numbers. (back to the committee).

I was talking to George and Freda from the Ulster Kit Car Club tonight. They are going to a new hotel in Carrickfergus - right beside the castle over the week-end to see if a deal can be done on the price. They will also be checking out the food which has received high praise. They need to know roughly how many rooms will be needed asap. If anyone is interested in going to Carrickfergus and staying over could you please let me know as soon as possible.

Nuala

I might be away that weekend, but if not I'll take a spin up for the day of the show, but won't be staying over.

George came back to us about the hotel and the food was good.(Brewer's Fare chain) We usually travel up on Saturday morning to the show which runs from noon till about 4 PM. Refreshments are provided for lunchtime. In the evening we get together for some liquid refreshment and dinner. For those who want to stay over the hotel is the Premier Inn in Carrickfergus. Room Rate is £69 including breakfast. Not bad for 2 people. :) Contact number for hotel is 00448715278214

Hotel booked out need new plan!! No one of either club has booked a room in the hotel yet as far as I understand from George and the hotel.
If anyone is travelling and staying we need to find a new venue.

It starts about 11am Michael and finishes up about 4pm.

We usually leave in convoy from the 'Coachmans Pub' beside Dublin Airport about 9.30am and take a run up.

Here are a few pics from the UKC]C Open Day yesterday. As usual we got a very warm welcome from our cousins up North and on the whole, the weather was quite kind to us.

My favourite:

Of course I have to get this shot in:

Not all the locals were welcoming:

After Charlie has completed his judging duties, and polished off his champagne and lobster lunch, he found time to give out a few dancing lessons. I believe he's showing this member of the UKCC the first few steps of the tango.

Once again a big thank you to all the guys at the UKCC for a very warm welcome and for their tea and cakes. See you next year.
