Hi all

We have been invited to attend the Kilbeggan American Car Show on September 7th . It is held on private grounds opposite Kilbeggan racecourse every year. The organisers have allocated us a generous area and I hope to fill it with your pride and joys. We can set up on Saturday and there is camping on site. Anyone staying can avail of the free barbecue and music thrown by the organisers on Saturday night. Bring your own beer!! The UKCC have said that they may join us as Kilbroney Show has been cancelled that weekend. On the Sunday we will be having a lunch barbecue on our stand for IKCC/UKCC club members. This show is replacing the Phoenix Park on our calendar as the park is not being run this year. Please try and attend and make it our biggest outing yet. The club has over 110 current members so it would be nice to see most of you together at least once a year, (make great photo shoot).

For any of you needing accommodation in the area here are some options.

Bloomfield House Hotel (3 star) 00353 (0)44 9340894

Middleton Park House (3 star) 00353 (0)44 9226996

Greenhills B&B 00353 (0)44 9226353

Josie Clarke B&B 00353 (0)86 8638313

More details will follow over the next few days

For the show and barbecue in Kilbeggan on September 7th we need a good turnout. I need a rough idea of numbers (the more the merrier) for food and refreshments.

A short reply, yes/no/maybe for both the above would be great (it only takes a few seconds).

Sorry for the grief but someone has to do it!

I'm on holiday and won't be there.

Have a great time.

We are going for the the other American experience and have rented a Chrysler convertible for a week's touring of New England.

See you when we get back.

Only one week to go to big show. The weather forecast looks good for next Sunday in Kilbeggan so anyone who did not get a chance to reply to or call me please let me know if you can attend. Hope to see you all there!

Ok anyone coming on Saturday I will be there from about 11.00am setting up the stand. There is security on Sat night so cars can be left on display. Some of the guys are camping on site (Ben, Derek etc) so feel free to join them. The UKCC are arriving on Saturday also and staying locally which will make a good crew for Joe Keenans (the show organiser) free barbecue that night. Remember bring your own beer. For those of you arriving on Sunday try and get there for 10.30 am. The IKCC are having a lunch barbecue courtesy of our resident chef Damo. Anyone who attended Terenure will know what a treat that is. Meat is supplied by Pat Langtons personal butcher. At the moment we have over 25 confirmed cars for our stand so lets get some more and top the record for a club display. Forecast is for a dry Sunday.

Any more takers e-mail, call or just turn up.

On Sunday there is a meeting point for any of the Dublin crew travelling to Kilbeggan Show. Gary Rafter (086 4003984) will lead a convoy away from The Foxhunter Pub on the N4 at Lucan. If you want to travel with this group meet at the above location at 9.00am. The Show venue is opposite the Racecourse one mile outside Kilbeggan village on the Mullingar road which is the turn at the small square in the center of Kilbeggan. Again for anyone travelling down on Saturday there are club members camping on site or staying locally. In his absence I have just appointed Ben Teeling 087 6354974 as camp coordinator (sorry Ben) so call him on Saturday to meet up.
Just checked weather for Mullingar area Sat/Sun and it looks great. Will update later in week. Ps numbers are looking good, try and drag out your local kitcar buddies and make it a record show.

Hi Clive...

Ben's personal assistant here hehe! He wont be at a computer till he's back from Edinburgh on Friday so I rang him when I saw your post. He said he's not too sure if he has a spare tent but he's gonna check when he's home on Friday and he said if you want to you can give him a buzz.

See ya!
