This Sunday 26th July sees our second visit to the Mountbellew Vintage Club's annual show. The club stand will be set up by 9.30 on Sunday morning. The venue is the mart in Mountbellew village same as last year. The weather for Sunday is showing a few scattered showers at the moment, updates will follow. Please post or call if you are interested in attending. Last years show was a real success for the club with new members singing up on the day.

I hope to make the Mountbellew show – are you guys going in convoy?

I’m going to the U2 gig the night before so I might be leaving a little later about 10-10.30. :D

For those coming from Dublin, the plan is to meet in the car park of the Fox Hunter pub on the N4 for 9am and head down in convoy.

That should get us down there for around 10.30-11am (so we don't leave Charlie sitting on his own for too long!!)

Good one John...

Will the Moss finally make it out of the garage for this one? or are you still under doctors orders?

Hi all members

The next three weekends are busy ones for the club.

1) First off there is the Mountbellew Vintage Show on Sunday 26th in Mountbellew, Co. Galway. We will have the Club Stand on display from 10am and as many cars as possible please. There is also a run from Dublin that morning so check out the Club Website.

2) Next our friends The Ulster Kitcar Club crew are holding their annual outing at Carrickfergus Castle on Saturday 1st . These guys and girls give us great support throughout the year at our events so we are organising a run to Carrickfergus for the day. The show is in the middle of the town and always has a great turnout. We are always made feel part their club for the day so the more the merrier.

3) Then it is the big one of the year, The Phoenix Park Motor Race Weekend, August 8th and 9th . The club had memorable event at our last park outing. This time we are on hard ground so no mud!! Also this year we get laps on both days and are organising a city run on Saturday night. The club barbecue will also be in attendance and camping is available on site. The weekend in the Park is expensive to put on so we have been asked to donate €50 per car for the weekends runs and facilities. Two years ago we had 42 cars on the track so the target this time is as many over 50 as possible.

I need to know numbers for these events as soon as possible so please let me know how many you can attend asap.

Regards

The forecast for Sunday is not looking good at the moment...

"More persistent rain will develop in the west on Saturday night and will spread gradually eastwards across the country on Sunday, with fresh and gusty southerly winds."

Here's a few photo's from today's show. By my own admission they're not very good, only got a few between the ridiculously heavy and very frequent showers, which in turn made the showgrounds a total quagmire.
Unfortunatly, it seemed the cream of the crop as far as cars was concerned were to be found in the town square, D'oh.
Anyway, here they are.
