Hi folks, just joined and I hope to get lots of useful advice from all of you on here. I finished a lotus 7 replica in 2002. I checked before i began if insurance was going to be an issue and was reassured by Carol Nash that they could quote. 2 years later when the car was finished everything had changed. I did eventualy get the car insured with them at an astronomical price, had no choice! I had to get the car registered as a new car and pay £900 registration fee and got a log book and a chassis no. I had a very enjoyable years motoring, however for year 2 they refused to quote. The car’s been sitting since. This summer i intend to get it back up and running, i’m hoping you guys can help me re advice on how to go about that.
I’ve been told at my local nct centre that they can’t provide an nct, given that the car, ford escrt donor, crossflow engine will not pass emissions for a 2002 car, so is it back to try and register it as a kitcar under the reg of the donor vehicle? Still have log book of that car? Any advice welcome, thanks. Joe
